About Distantly Social Trivia

Once the COVID-19 pandemic hit Washington, DC comedian and event planner Kacie Hackett searched for ways to entertain herself, like any true only child would. Missing evenings in bars for comedy or trivia, Kacie founded Distantly Social Trivia to recreate the social bar environment and raise money for the struggling industry.

Word spread and now teams from around the country join the weekly online trivia game. Since March 16, 2020 Distantly Social Trivia has:

  • Hosted 75+ public and private games

  • Raised over $17,000 for organizations assisting those financially suffering from the COVID-19 closures

  • Entertained teams from around the United States and six countries.

The game is usually about 90 minutes, and is designed to cover a little bit of everything. We pride ourselves on clever game categories like “Appropriate Uses for Bleach” and “Oh The Places You Can’t Go!” that broadly cover a range of topic areas. Our goal is to bring people together virtually for some fun and laughter, and we use trivia and other gameshow-style games to accomplish this.
